I’m tired…November Challenge day 4

November 8, 2009

That Father Runner is something!  He went with me on the ‘long run’ today (12 miles).  It was a great day.  Sunshine (vitamin D).  Breezey. Humid.  Everything was just the way I love it.  2 hours of uninterrupted talking time with Father Runner – we solved all the problems of the world inside the four walls of our home.  🙂

In twelve miles Father Runner counted 6 different types of running surfaces – the only surface missing was sand.  Father Runner suggested we go to a beach and run the last mile.  Uh. Father Runner?  We’re land-locked.  Sorry.

Here’s what you get in a 12 mile run around a 3×2 mile town…

Ass-Fault (that’s not a typo):surface 1

Concrete:

surface 2

Wooded path…                                                                                                                                               with mulch!

pathsurface 3

a little bit of brick!

surface 4

Some gravel – through the cemetery.

And we ran through a whole lot of this: (because I slipped on it – it’s officially a surface!)

surface 6!

That’s a lot of surface!  12 miles – I think I can make it in two weeks.  For the November Challenge just click on that SocialVibe or here:donate

and donate $12.  $1 = water for 1 person for 1 year.  Remarkable!
